I was intrigued and happy with where they were going with this for 2 hours and 20 minutes - and then the last 10 minutes killed it!
The alternate universe is some kind of purgatory???
Desmond was the key to nothing???
What is the island??? Why can it time travel (by turning a magic wheel?)?
So many key questions unanswered - i'd like to list more, but my baby is crying.

Origins episode (Jacob and his brother)
I love this episode. Great storytelling. Answers without being too simplified.
I totally forgot that Jack found the black and white stones in the cave way back in the day.
So, the black smoke is a monster and he uses Jacob's brother's body, (just like he's currently using John Locke's body) to appear human. Right?
I really like Jacob's brother's character. He was human. I just want to know what the lady saw in him that made her kill their birth mother, because it didn't appear that she was going to kill her after Jacob was born. It was only when the brother was born that she got all crazy with smashing rocks in her head.
I'm surprised they never used the term "the others" for the people on the other side of the island.
So, the light, the electromagnetism, the black smoke...they all work together somehow?
Anyway, I really liked this episode. With only one more episode to go before the finale, I really hope the last few hours of LOST are only going to get better.

Jack-John episode
If I were Jack, I would said a little bit more than just "trust me, the bomb is not going to blow us up". How about telling Sawyer about what happened with Richard? and getting Hurley to back him up?
Where is Ben?
Things are starting to wrap up and as I always said, "Questions are so much better than Answers". People have said to me that there is no way the series finale will be satisfying, which I disagreed with, because I thought it would be nice to see how smart the story has been from beginning to end. But now, I'm realizing that the answers are going to be too abrupt and with all the clues they've given since the series inception, it's all going to be too obvious or too simple. That makes me sad.
I'm still hoping to be blown away, but after watching this week's episode, I've realized that I'm a little blown away and overwhelmed by something else in my life right now, that it seems even more likely that the LOST finale is going to be anti-climatic.
How many more episodes are there? Your thoughts?

What was the theme of this episode?
There was a lot going on in this episode.

Desmond talking Sayid out of killing him
Sawyer's plan to ditch Locke
Why has Widmore's team turned on Sawyer?
Questionable:
Why would Sun and Jin speak to each other in English when seeing each other for the first time?
Creepy Desmond in the parallel world stalking Claire
Kate convincing Claire to join them
Not sure how I feel about this:
Jack jumping off the boat (same as Sawyer jumped out of the helicopter) - it had to happen, but it still seems like lazy storywriting.
My keyboard is sticky, so typing is annoying, otherwise, I would say more...after this analysis, I'd say it was not one of my faves, but keep'em coming.

The Hurley Episode
I love Hurley episodes. Hurley is such a nice character.
Questions and Answers: What are the whispers? They are people who did wrong on the island and are trapped there trying to communicate with the living. (is that right?)
Do both worlds exist? Yes, Desmond is the only one who is conscious that both worlds exist and now he's doing stuff to make others remember and also to make things in the parallel world right so that they properly affect the island world???
Of course the smoke monster was going to push Desmond down the well!!! But why doesn't he just kill him the way he kills other people? How does he decide/what prevents him from killing some people and keeping others alive?
Who's the kid in the jungle?
I love that Hurley has tons of cash and that he can just throw it around to get his own way.
Ilana just blew up - that was sudden.
It's a little bit too convenient that Jack, Hurley and Sun just decided that they all needed to go and see Locke when he was waiting around for them to come join him.
Personally, I'm still thrilled with the show. I'm just wondering with the very few episodes left if they're going to answer all the questions - but then again, i'm not really looking for answers, I've just been and continue to be enthralled with the storytelling.
So, are there any questions that you think they will not answer? Remind me.

The Desmond Episode
"Not Penny's Boat"
That was an awesome episode.
Full of reminiscent characters (Elioise Hawking, Daniel Faraday, Penny Widmore, Charlie - is the driver supposed to be somebody?), questions being answered in the LOST style (with more questions being posed), great dialogue, memorable scenes, great storytelling...this is what LOST is all about.
For all those out there who don't care for the parallel world, what do you think now?
It seems pretty obvious now that Desmond's time-traveling capabilities are going to tie the two worlds together. What makes him so special? I don't really care. I just think his character is really cool.
The love at first sight concept is also so enticing: Charlie and Claire, Desmond and Penny, Daniel and Charlotte - I really like how LOST is explaining how love at first sight can actually exist.
Wouldn't you be freaked out if you were a musician and you woke up able to write down complex physics formulas? "I don't want to set off a nuclear bomb...I think I already did!"...awesome!
Think back to when Juliette said, "It worked" just before she died in Sawyer's arms...how did she know? What did she mean? There's something about being on the brink of death that allows you to see both worlds!!!
Only 5 more episodes until the series finale!!!...Any additional thoughts?
